Stairwell railings adjusted after facade insulation – shortened and re-anchored

A large apartment block owned by a housing company in Berlin-Rudow was retrofitted with exterior insulation – which made the building about 20 cm wider on every side, so the safety railings at the basement stairwells no longer fit. Our job: shorten all the railings by the thickness of the insulation and then anchor them firmly back into the wall. Some of the railing gates we turned around and rehung on the opposite side so they open properly again with the new wall thickness. All done – the stairwells are safely enclosed again. We do metalwork like this for property managers and housing companies in Berlin and northern Brandenburg.
